AutoReel AI Virtual Staging: Instantly Enhance Any Room

Alok Gupta

If you’ve ever tried to market a vacant room, a poorly furnished space, or an oddly laid out area, you know: buyers struggle to visualize potential. Traditionally, your options were either expensive in-person staging or juggling separate virtual-staging tools outside your core workflow.
AutoReel already turns listing photos into cinematic videos in minutes. Now with Virtual Staging and AI Photo Edits built in, you can enhance photos, furnish empty rooms, and generate polished videos all in one powerful platform.
The best part? While in Beta, AI Virtual Staging is included at no additional cost in any AutoReel paid plan.
What Virtual Staging Can Do
- Add furniture to empty rooms using professional styles.
- Replace dated or mismatched furniture with clean, neutral, on-brand alternatives.
- Produce multiple design variations for the same space.
Supported furniture styles:
- Modern
- Scandinavian
- Farmhouse
- Mid-century
- Bohemian
Virtual Staging is built on top of AI Photo Edits and works in a similar way, so it’s encouraged to read the guide on Photo Edits as a starting point. It sits next to Photo Edits in the same modal window, simply just toggle the Virtual Staging tab when you need to furnish or refurnish a room.

How To Use Virtual Staging

Two ways to start using AI Virtual Staging in AutoReel: During Video Creation (left image) or Image Gallery within a listing (right image).
You can start from either the Video creation flow or the Image Gallery underneath a project.
Step 1) Open a Photo
- Hover over any image and click AI Edit to open the photo modal.
- First time editing that image? Click Analyze so AutoReel detects room type and staging context. Adjust the room type if needed.

Step 2) Choose the Action
- Add furniture (for empty rooms)
- Replace furniture (for furnished rooms)
Step 3) Select the style
- Pick the staging style that fits the listing’s position and mood
- Available styles are: Modern, Scandinavian, Farmhouse, Mid-century, Bohemian
Step 4) Add optional custom instructions
- Note that short, targeted prompts outperform long instructions
- Use them to control what stays, what changes, and how the furniture placement or orientation in the room
- Example: “add farmhouse style wall decor and make it really cozy”

Step 5) Use the staged images anywhere, AutoReel or externally
- Insert into your AutoReel videos
- Download for clients, MLS, flyers, social, and print
- Track versions: Versions are grouped together for quick toggling. Edited images display a small “Edited” symbol so they’re easy to spot.
Best Practices
- Match style to the property’s location, vibe, and audience.
- Keep the optional custom instructions concise and simple.
- For cluttered rooms, clean first with Photo Edits, then stage.
- Produce one style per final image; if you want multiple looks, generate multiple versions.
- Avoid asking for architectural or fixture changes.
- Revise the image several times as needed to achieve your desired result
