How Gary Ashton's #1 REMAX Team globally adds video to every listing
Their team used to cut listing reels on their phone, one clip at a time, after waiting a week to get the video back. Now they make a property video from the listing photos in 5 to 10 minutes.

“Some of our luxury clients go WOW, how did you even do that?”
Amy Burns, Marketing Director, The Ashton Real Estate Group of REMAX AdvantageThe challenge
Gary Ashton's team is the #1 REMAX team in the world, five years running. More than 170 agents sell homes across Nashville. Behind them is Amy Burns, the team's Marketing Director, running a team of about 7: media coordinators, a listing coordinator, and on-staff photographers.
Long-form video was covered. Photographers shot a horizontal virtual tour for YouTube, Zillow, and the MLS. But agents wanted something else. “The agents are pushing us for social content, because they're trying to build their own personal business and their own brands online.” Photographers could not shoot both on every job.
So Amy made the social videos herself. “I was doing those with Canva or CapCut or something on my phone. Taking our normal virtual tour walkthroughs, cutting those up, trying to find the frame that kind of fit.” Each video took about 30 minutes, and agents usually asked for 2 or 3 videos — 1 to 2 hours of Amy's time per listing.
The math did not scale. YouTube tours went out on 20 to 30% of listings. Fewer than 10% got any social video at all. Hiring out wasn't cheaper either: an outside company charged $150 to $500 per video tour, and most of a week could pass before it came back.
The strategy
So Amy and her team set up AutoReel to:
- Turn listing photos into social reels in minutes, just by pasting in the listing link
- Open or close each reel with a day-to-night transition, so the exterior ends at twilight
- Add lifestyle scenes with people, like a couple walking horses on a country property
- Turn virtually staged and twilight photos into short clips for the long-form YouTube tour, with no second shoot
The impact
The time math flipped. A reel that took Amy 1-2 hours in CapCut now takes 5 to 10 minutes, redos included. In one day, she made 10 videos in about an hour, while doing other work as they rendered. “That's almost six times the amount of content in the same time frame,” Amy says.
In August, the team started ramping up on Reels ahead of a partnership with Redfin's upcoming Reels platform, covering listings across all price ranges. Agents noticed: “Knowing it's available, they're asking and requesting more and more.”
The videos also help agents win the listing itself, showing sellers an expanded media package before they sign with the firm.
The biggest save is on high-end homes. Photographers shoot in daylight, but some sellers want buyers to see the pool at night. Before, that meant sending the crew back out, sometimes a 2-hour drive. Now the team makes a twilight video from the daytime photo instead. “Here's another version that you can review,” Amy says. And the clients go, “how did you do that?”
“We make 6 times the amount of content in the same time frame.”
