Just listed video

Definition

A just listed video announces that a property has hit the market.

It's a short, energetic video, usually posted in the first few days of a listing, that shows the best features, the location and the key facts, with the goal of creating urgency and driving early showings. Timing is the point.

A listing gets its biggest wave of attention right after it goes live, so the just listed video should be ready on day one, not a week later.

What to include

  • A strong opening shot of the exterior or the standout room.
  • "Just Listed" clearly on screen.
  • The location, the price where appropriate, and beds and baths.
  • Three to five highlight shots, such as the kitchen, main living space, primary bedroom and outdoor space.
  • The open house date and time, if one is planned.
  • A call to action: book a showing, DM for details or follow the link in your bio.

Format tips

  • Vertical (9:16) for Reels, TikTok and Shorts. Fifteen to thirty seconds is usually enough.
  • A horizontal version for your website, YouTube and email.
  • Captions for muted viewing.
  • Licensed, upbeat music.

Mind the pre-marketing rules. If you're posting before the listing is officially active, check your MLS's coming-soon rules and NAR's Clear Cooperation Policy. Follow the just listed video with an open house video and, later, a just sold video, so your audience sees the whole story.
